History

In 1825 there was a well-known German-Dutch botanist and entomologist name Dr. Karl Ludwig Blume (we love his last name) who was facsinated with the world of plants.
Dr. Blume identified the phalaenopsis orchid and gave named defrom the Greek word “phalaina,” which means “a moth,” and opsis, meaning “appearance”. He thought they reminded him of the flying white moths he had seen in tropical jungles. Some people also call these orchids “phals” but we simply call them beauties.
